Philosophy
Decatur Heritage Christian Academy embraces a Christian philosophy of education. We consider children a heritage of the Lord and education not simply a job or service provided — it is a calling which we pursue with enthusiasm and diligence.
Mission
The mission of Decatur Heritage Christian Academy is to assist families by providing their children with an education that is excellent and which instills Biblical principles to guide their lives.
Organizational Structure
Established in 1995, DHCA is a non-denominational Christian school serving the greater Decatur area. Our campus provides nearly 70,000 square feet on 36 acres. Program divisions for the 2010-2011 school year include the Lower School (K5-6th grade) and the Upper School (7th-12th grade). For the 2010-2011 school year, Lower School enrollment is 193 and Upper School enrollment is 194 for a total student body of 387 representing over 40 area churches. The current graduating class is comprised of 30 students.
While the Headmaster, along with his administrative team, handles the day-to-day operations of the school, a self-perpetuating Board of Trustees provides accountability and oversight with respect to the mission and policies of the school.
Non-Discriminatory Policy
Decatur Heritage Christian Academy does not discriminate on the basis of sex, age, disability, or any other class as protected by law in the administration of its policies.
